Free On-Line Tutorials: BOXY POUCH - Page 2< back to Free Bag Patterns page | |||||||
STEP 5: Lay the lining fabric face down over the oilcloth and zip and clip, rather than pin, together. Stitch 1/4 inch from the edge with a zip foot. |
STEP 6: Fold both layers back from the zip and top stitch parallel to the teeth with a non-stick foot or a piece of tape on the bottom of your standard foot. Remember to remove the tape and clean the foot. |
||||||
STEP 7: With the zip closed, fold the oilcloth right sides together on itself to the front of the zip, and the lining likewise to the back. Clip together and, using the zip foot, stitch in place with a 1/4 inch seam. |
STEP 8: Undo the zip fully and turn the pouch right sides out through itself. Top stitch the second side of the zip as before, the extra length in the zip should enable you to do this with ease. |
||||||
STEP 9: With the pouch inside out, close the zip and trim off the CLOSED end (the end WITHOUT the slider!) |
STEP 10: Roll the pouch so that the zip is now at one edge instead of in the middle |
